Recording can IMPROVE a bad lecture

 

the point being that the ability to revisit  lecture (not the whole thing, just the important parts) can help make any lecture more understandable to students, and that every lecture should be recorded. We couldn’t agree more – we want to democratize lecture capture so that anyone can do it, and let the (student) community do it (for) themselves.

I highly recommend listening to Donald’s Ted presentation and reading his blog.
